Lena Göbel lets her rural roots pervade her art. Her motives are nature, the environment and the people close to her; formally too, she translates country life into her work. For her woodcuts she uses printing posts from pearwood or spruce, and the print itself seems almost archaic in its simplicity.

In his work, figurative painting meets abstract shapes, and both are equally important to him. His inspirations come from music and literature, as he translates their rhythms into art.

Collector Stories Johann und Lena König, Berlin

Johann König comes from an influential family at home in the art world, and he grew up surrounded by artworks by Andy Warhol, On Kawara, and Gerhard Richter. His wife, Lena König, is an art historian who began buying art while still a student. Today, the two not only manage one of the most important contemporary art galleries in the world, but also collect art together.

Sofie Thorsen poses abstract questions on the subject of space, its formal language and design, always starting from concrete architectural, temporal and geographical situations. In her "Play Sculptures", for example, she deals with a forgotten typology of forms during the art-in-architecture movement of the post-war period, emphasizing the intertwined character of abstract sculpture, architecture and urban planning, aesthetics and society.
